Thomas R. Hoerr, Ph.D. has been Head of School at New City since 1981. Prior to becoming Head of New City School, Tom was principal of Pershing Elementary School in the University City School District, and he taught fifth grade for eight years before becoming principal. Tom has written two books: Becoming A Multiple Intelligences School and The Art of School Leadership , and is one of two educators nation-wide who writes a bi-monthly column for Educational Leadership, one of the country’s premier educational publications. He also directed and taught in the Nonprofit Management program at Washington University. Tom’s third book, School Leadership For The Future, will be published by NAIS this winter. Tom publishes "Intelligence Connections," the ASCD Multiple Intelligences Network e-newsletter. It is published 3-4 times per year and features articles by MI practitioners around the country and world and is distributed free of charge.
